Uphill task: Zii Jia will take on world No. 6 Jonatan of Indonesia in his All-England debut.

PETALING JAYA: National top men’s singles shuttler Lee Zii Jia has made a flying start at the All-England when he stunned sixth seed Jonatan Christie of Indonesia in the opener.

Zii Jia put up a near faultless performance to outclass Jonatan 21-15,21-13 for his first-ever win against the Asian Games gold medallist in six meetings at the Arena Birmingham on Wednesday (March 11).

Zii Jia will next face the winner of the match between China’s Lu Guangzu and Thailand’s Kantaphon Wangcharoen in the last 16.
